Do I need to ship through my local FFL?

A local FFL may be an option for a fee, but you can ship directly to us as we are a licensed FFL / Dealer. We can provide a copy of our FFL to your contract carrier upon request. For serialized parts, we are are obligated to return ship them to the address we recieved them from. Customers can utilize the local USPS to ship long guns and must utilize other contract carriers such as FedEx or UPS to ship handguns. Contract Carriers will require 2nd day air service for any handgun shipments. We recommend you insure the shipment according to the value as appropriate. You will need to indicate the amount of insurance coverage for the return shipping if desired.

Basic guidelines for shipping firearms:

*Handguns must be shipped 2nd day air by a contract carrier. Please do not use your local post office. They do not allow non-FFL folks to ship handguns.
*Long guns and non-serialized parts can be shipped by ground service and any carrier, USPS is the cheapest.
*Contract Carriers will most likely require you to drop it off at a large distribution center.
*Declare that you are shipping an unloaded firearm for repairs. It is 100% legal to do so, they shouldn't give you too much trouble.
*MAKE SURE YOUR FIREARM IS UNLOADED!!! Check it TWICE!
*Do NOT ship any ammo with your firearms.
*Make sure your firearms and parts are packed well with sufficient cushioning for the journey.
*Please include an itemized packing list of everything that you send us. We cannot be held responsible for anything that is not documented.
*When ready to ship, please print and fill out our work order form and send your items to the address on that Work Order.

How do I maintain my newly finished firearm?

Just like any other firearm. Gun lubricants / solvents will not impact the Cerakote.

What parts can be coated with Cerakote?

With Cerakote, almost any part of a gun that is not made of rubber can be coated. However, our policy is to not coat any critical contact points sears, safeties, triggers, disconnectors, aftermarket match triggers, springs, inside of barrels or chambers. Some springs that are attached permanently to a gun must sometimes be coated. Rubber components will react poorly with the Cerakote and heat, so these will be removed or taped off before the coating process.

When can I use my newly finished firearm?

As soon as you receive them back from us. All cerakote projects are fully cured before shipping back to you.
